APLD first worked with the Owners developing a 5-acre Hacienda property on a promontory in Topanga Canyon. While retaining the Topanga property, they purchased this Venice property where they have now started a family.
Though they are very involved in their neighborhood and community, they wanted to enclose their property for privacy and security and to create a sanctuary within.
APLD reconfigured the entry walkways, extended the patio areas to accommodate the family’s frequent entertaining activities and added a large fire element near the spa to warm the chilly beachside evenings.
Tropical plantings were used to give the gardens a lush sensuality. Hardy flax, palms and succulents were used to withstand two and four-legged foot traffic.
